Dalil Al-Khayrāt (The Guide to Goodness) Episode 7
The greatness and lofty status of Allah's Messenger (PBUH)
Honoring the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, is a task that transcends human capacity.
This is because his rank, peace and blessings be upon him, is immense and exalted.
It cannot be truly comprehended except by his Creator, Glorified and Exalted be Him.
It was reported that (the Prophet) stated: 'No one knows my true worth except my Lord.'
Thus, before humanity honored the Master of Humanity, Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, had already honored and elevated him.
So that He may make us aware of his great rank, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
This is manifested in the association of his name with Allah's Name in the testimony of faith (Shahadah).
"I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
"Did We not expand for you your chest (1) And We removed from you your burden (2) Which weighed down your back (3) And raised high for you your mention (4)" [Qur'an, Surah Ash-Sharh 94:1-4].
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him, about the meaning of this verse.
Jibreel replied, "Allah, Exalted be He, says to you: 'O Muhammad, I am not mentioned except that you are mentioned alongside Me.'"
The elevation of his mention here is manifested in the association of his name with Allah's name.
Or the connection of his remembrance with the remembrance of Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He.
Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, elevated his rank and made his name paired with His Name.
Distinct, upon him is the seal of Prophethood.
"Blessed by Allah, he shines and is witnessed.
The Divine joined the Prophet’s name to His Name,
When the caller to prayer proclaims, ‘I bear witness’ in the five prayers.
And He derived for him a name from His Name to honor him:
The Lord of the Throne is Mahmood (Praiseworthy), and he is Muhammad.
This association signifies that
"What Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, has ordained for him
from the elevation of his mention means eternal remembrance, exalted status, and high rank.
"He, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, is the closest of creation to the Truth, or to Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He.
It is beyond comprehension to grasp the rank of our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, before his Lord and Creator.
Open the Qur’an and immerse yourself in its verses.
You will find that every virtue mentioned in the Hadiths
is lesser compared to what is mentioned in the Qur’an. Our Prophet, peace be upon him, was the Master of humility.
As we read the Qur’an, you will find the Prophet is present in every perfection,
the source of every perfection,
and the one behind the relief of every distress,
and the attainment of every hope.
You will find the Prophet the reason for all of that blessings.
This is not an exaggeration, nor an overstatement.
Rather, the proofs and verses of the Qur’an affirm this for every person of reason.
A fair-minded person, when reading Allah's addresses to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family and companions,
Glory be to Allah, after every surah in the Qur’an, each verse is a direct address to the beloved Muhammad, peace be upon him.
“For you are in Our sight. And exalt [God] with praise when you arise.”
“And indeed, you are of a great moral character.”
What more could you ask for? This verse astonishes the intellect— “And indeed, you are of a great moral character.”
He, the Chosen One, was favored before the creation of Adam,
When the universe had yet to be unlocked.
Can any creature truly praise you,
When the Creator Himself has praised your character?
Every supplication that a Prophet made for himself was already granted to our Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master Shu'ayb said: “Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, for You are the best of those who give decisions.”
And it was fulfilled for our Messenger, peace be upon him,
when Allah said to him: “Indeed, we have granted you a clear conquest.”
Our Master Musa (Moses) said: “My Lord, expand for me my chest.”
And God said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “Did We not expand for you your chest?”
Our master Ibrahim (Abraham) said: “And do not disgrace me on the Day they are resurrected.”
And it was said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “On the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him.”
It is not only him, but also those who followed him, peace be upon him.
Any supplication that a prophet made was already granted to our Prophet, peace be upon him, even before he asked.
O Allah, send Your prayers, blessings, and mercy upon the Master of the Messengers and the Leader of the God-conscious.
And the Seal of the Prophets, our Master Muhammad, Your servant and Messenger.
The leader of goodness, the guide to goodness, and the Messenger of mercy.
Allah did not create a being more upright, greater, or more magnificent than the Prophet, peace be upon him.
For on the Day of Judgment—
"The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds.”
"They will stand in rows, and none will speak except those whom the Most Merciful permits, and who speak the truth.”
The exception is for those to whom the Most Merciful grants permission to speak before the Lord of the worlds.
Neither Jibreel (Gabriel) nor the angels will speak.
They will not speak, except those permitted—none but Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
A complete and perfect man upon whom revelation descended, and whose name is mentioned alongside the name of Allah, the Almighty.
It is an indescribable feeling when you remember a great man,
he is the greatest man in history.
The heavens and the earth, and everything in existence, were created for his sake.
When you remember him, you realize we are truly blessed to be part of the nation of our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
By Allah, we should praise Allah at least a hundred times a day for the blessing of being part of the nation of our Master Muhammad (PBUH)
If life’s conditions ever become difficult for you,
Then at the pre-dawn hours, send Salawat upon Muhammad.
For Allah, the Lord of the Throne, sends tenfold blessings upon the one who sends blessings upon Muhammad.
And for a hundred times, Allah sends a thousand blessings—So hasten to send blessings upon Muhammad.
And do not neglect the Messenger of Allah for even a single day, for how sweet is sending Salawat upon Muhammad!
A cure for hearts, a radiance, and a light—All drawn from Muhammad.
It brings ease and relief from distress, for those who send Salawat upon Muhammad.
With it, secrets and lights flow forth, illuminating with the prayer upon Muhammad.
And its greatest form is when you stand one day in his noble garden, sending Salawat upon Muhammad.
This reflects the attention of Muslims throughout time in venerating the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
It springs from their understanding that his honor extends to everything he touched, interacted with, or was connected to.
Whether it be his blessed body or his noble clothing.
Or even his blessed sandals, peace and blessings be upon him.
The key to proper etiquette with our Master, the Messenger of Allah, Peace and blessings be upon him—
is to gain insight into the virtues of the Muhammadan rank.
We do not say to fully comprehend the Muhammadan rank.
Who has truly known the Messenger of Allah? Who has encompassed the lights of our Master, the Messenger of Allah?
Who has been able to confine and articulate the greatness that Allah has given to our Master, the Messenger of Allah?
There is nothing insignificant among the things connected to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
Everything becomes elevated in value if it is linked to our Master, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
Even those who were honored to serve the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, their status was elevated by this service.
Their worth increased because they served our Master, the Messenger of Allah.
Their names were recorded by Imam Al-Sakhawi in his book Al-Fakhr Al-Mutawali (The Successive Honor).
Look at the title: Al-Fakhr Al-Mutawali—“On those who were connected to the Messenger of Allah, among servants and allies.”
What about his clothing? What is its status?
It protects from punishment.
So much so that a hypocrite would be shrouded in it to lessen his torment.
How was the Prophet’s hair?
His hair was a cure wherever it would be placed.
People would not know how to stand.
They wouldn’t know how to act when encountering his blessed hair.
All this reverence in the hearts, and this innate feeling that we possess.
It indicates that he is different and unique.
Some may belittle and ask, “Why do we say ‘the owner of the two sandals?’”
And what merit lies in his sandals?
Even to mention them—who has reached the level of the Prophet’s sandals?
This is our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
The sandals of our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, reached the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary.
When our Master Musa (Moses) was approaching Mount Sinai,
It was said to him: “Remove your sandals; you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa.”
But for our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, Allah did not tell him to remove his sandals.
And so, as one poet said:
"At the peak of this universe, the sandals of Muhammad rose high,
While all of creation remained beneath their shade.
At Mount Sinai, Musa was told: "Remove [your sandals],
But Ahmad (the Prophet) at the Throne was not commanded to remove his sandals.
Who can compare to the honor attained by those very sandals—The same sandals belittled by some people?
When our master Abdullah ibn Mas’ud carried them, he was called “the bearer of the sandals.”
He was specifically chosen to carry the Prophet’s sandals, peace and blessings be upon him.
He became the most truthful of people, and the Prophet (PBUH) said about him: “Whatever Abdullah ibn Mas’ud tells you, believe him.”
The honor of the sandals passed to our Master Abdullah ibn Mas’ud.

Imagine the honor of everything that was close to him.
His time was the best of times.
His wives were the best of wives.
His daughters were the best of daughters.
His Companions were the best of companions.
His city was the best of cities.
His sandals were the best of sandals.
His vessels were the best of vessels, his sword the best of swords.
His cloak and clothing were the finest, and his house was the best of homes.
His grave is the best of graves, and his noble dome is the best of domes.
Everything that comes close to him acquires that greatness and draws honor from his presence.
Therefore, there is nothing insignificant about our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. This is a sign of great love.
When a person sends blessings upon our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, they should have these images in mind.
The things related to our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
They should honor them, and when they do, how can they fail to honor the Prophet’s status?
Therefore, when you honor the Prophet’s sandals, peace and blessings be upon him,
When you honor the Prophet’s clothes, peace and blessings be upon him,
and the Prophet’s staff, peace and blessings be upon him,
What honor will fill your heart for the presence of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?
This is wisdom, and this is the story.
There is nothing related to our Master, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that is insignificant.
Everything connected to him rises in status.
O Allah, raise his building above all other buildings, honor his resting place with You, and provide him with a noble abode.
Complete his light, and reward him with the acceptance of his testimony and the approval of his words, full of justice, clarity, and great evidence.
O Allah, complete his status, and bless his testimony with truth and brilliance.
Our master Al-Shadhili says, "The Prophets are stars, and he is like the moon."
Being close to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, fills you with the fragrance of musk.
Some people emanate the fragrance of musk, even as they passed near the Prophet’s chamber in the past.
A bird fell near it, and the chamber was surrounded.
They chose the most righteous man in the city to go up the stairs to bring him.
When he went up, the scent of musk radiated from his body until he passed away.
Whenever he passed through a street in the city, it was illuminated, as if he had passed through the Prophet’s chamber.
How much more so if that chamber is his grave!
Imagine being even closer to him.
A person’s experience of this varies according to their individual readiness, O my Master.
Some people lack certainty.
And, Allah forbids, they object. May Allah protect us from being among those who object.
They do not sense this fragrance, because it’s a matter of taste. It’s a matter of taste.
This is the sweetness of nearness, the joy of intimate conversation, the ecstasy of love for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
It's as if he is right in front of you while you send Salawat upon him. This is not a trivial matter.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad.
As You sent blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad.
And send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad.
As our Master Muhammad was blessed upon, and upon his family, peace and blessings be upon them.
And send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad.
As the family of our Master Muhammad sent blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad.
When the meanings of the greatness of our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, are firmly rooted within us,
it becomes important to pass on these meanings to our children.
So that we ensure they develop a strong connection with him, peace and blessings be upon him.
Send blessings upon Muhammad.
Peace and blessings be upon him.
Send blessings upon Muhammad.
Peace and blessings be upon him.
Afterward, you convey this meaning to your children as you teach them the Qur’an,
And pass this meaning through your actions as you raise them.
And as you interact with your friends, neighbors, and wife.
Even a small child, when they see their father like this, angry,
and then one of his friends tells him, "invoke Salawat upon the Prophet,"
He will then send Salawat upon the Prophet, and his anger will fade away.
He will understand that the blessings upon the Prophet have the soothing effect of a painkiller.
The calming remedy.
O Allah, send blessings upon the chosen one, our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
O Allah, send blessings upon the chosen one, our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
All of these things help the child develop a deep attachment to the beloved, peace and blessings be upon him.
If the child forms a connection to the beloved at a young age,
then, by Allah, wherever they go, you can rest assured. Whoever is with the Prophet will never be lost.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was loved by children during his life time.
When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, met Al-Hasan,
he said, "I have learned from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, 'Leave what causes doubt for that which does not cause doubt.
Our Master Abdullah ibn Abbas was ten years old when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"I will teach you some words."
The hadith of Abu Umayr: "O Abu Umayr, what happened to the little bird?"
The children used to be around the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
despite his many responsibilities, peace be upon him,
and the great matters he had to deal with.
Because a great man is not one who is preoccupied only with major matters,
but one who pays attention to the smallest of matters, so everything is in balance for him.
He has a scale by which he weighs everything.
So, he treats one person with kindness, and another gives each their due right.
I have advice for parents.
Teach your children to love the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
by frequently mentioning his biography.
Everyone should mention the name Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Say, "Pray for the Prophet (PBUH)"
The miser is the one in whose presence the Prophet’s name is mentioned but does not pray upon him.
Teach the children the stories of the Prophet’s life, peace and blessings be upon him.
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
spoke to inanimate objects and animals.
There are books with stories of miracles.
The Qur'an is the greatest miracle, greater than any other.
But every Prophet had a miracle.
And every Prophet’s miracle was also a miracle for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
It is all written in the books. So why don't we take time for our children?
Today, all the youth are busy with computers.
But children are following Hollywood, Bollywood, and nonsense.
We should make stories from the life of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
So, if we, the Muslims, and our children,
and the preachers, scholars,
and anyone who has knowledge—even the smallest knowledge—who knows about the Prophet, should convey it in a beautiful way,
it would be a great benefit.
To shape it, to teach it, and to present it in a beautiful format,
and we can present it to people, this would be a great goodness.
Prayers and blessings be upon Taha, the best of creation and the highest of them.
The scholars and the righteous say,
The abundance of names reflects the greatness, status, and honor of the one who is named.
Therefore, if we want to understand the truth of what we have mentioned about the greatness of our Master Muhammad (PBUH)
we must begin by learning his names.
O Allah, send blessings, peace, and mercy upon the one whose name is our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master, the Intercessor, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master, the Interceder, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master, the Righteous, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master, the Reformer, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master, the Preserver, peace and blessings be upon him.
O Allah, send blessings, peace, and mercy upon
the one whose name is the most noble of names.
Our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Our Master Ahmad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Our Master Hamid, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Our Master Al-Jazouli compiled in Dalail Al-Khayrat the names of our Master the Prophet.
He listed 201 of them.
When we enter the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, we find them
written and engraved on the walls from the gate of As-Salam to the gate of Baqi', in the same order as Al-Jazouli arranged them.
Where did these names come from?
They came from his attributes and qualities.
They came from the divine manifestations that were bestowed upon him.
They came from the actions performed by the Prophet.
Because every action has its origin in a quality, and every quality has its origin in a name.
Names describe the characteristics of a person.
They are called by the tasks they perform.
For every task, a person is called by the name of that task.
All tasks return to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
If you say "teacher," he is the teacher.
If you say "educator," he is the educator.
So we have followed the names of Allah as mentioned in Dalail Al-Khayrat and other texts.
When our Master the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, mentions certain names,
he mentions five names. But where do the rest come from?
The five names mentioned are special.
He says "Muhammad," "Ahmad," and speaks about the origin of these names.
Muhammad is the origin of all names, both outward and inward.
Allah has the most beautiful names.
Thus, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, is the Master of every name in the universe. He is the Messenger of the Most Merciful,
the Messenger of the Compassionate, the Messenger of the Subdued,
the Messenger of the Generous, the Messenger of the Majestic, the Messenger of Glory and Honor,
the Messenger of the King, the Messenger of the Owner, the Messenger of the Giver, the Messenger of the Withholder,
the Messenger of the Harmful, the Messenger of the Beneficial, the Messenger of the One, the Messenger of the Unique.
In Surah At-Tawbah, the Prophet is described as "full of compassion and mercy."
This is one of Allah's names, so this shows that the Prophet's qualities and names
are manifestations of Allah's names and attributes, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Our Master is eager for your well-being, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Muhammad, peace be upon him.
Since childhood, in the Qur'anic school, we would recite the Qur'an and learn verses of poetry.
Muhammad is a human, but not like other humans,
His status among humans is like
the status of a ruby among stones.
It is the difference between the ruby and the stone.
His morals, attributes, beauty, movements, pauses, his gatherings, his humility,
his garments, his asceticism, his generosity, his giving, his struggles, his battles—everything,
none of these can be fully described.
All of it is to be praised, peace be upon him and his family, with the best prayer and purest peace.
And how can his true essence be known in this world?
A people asleep, entertained by dreams of him,
He is the one whose meaning and image were perfected,
Then Allah chose him as a beloved, the Creator of all beings.
He is free from any partner in his virtues; his beauty is undivided.
Ignore what the Christians claim about their Prophet, and praise him however you wish.
Attribute to his essence any honor you like,
And attribute to his status any greatness you wish.
For the virtue of the Messenger of Allah has no limit,
No speaker can fully express it with his tongue.
The discussion of his greatness and status, peace be upon him and his family, is lengthy.
How was his mercy? How was his gentleness?
How did he interact with people?
How did his morals reflect this greatness and perfection?
This is what we will learn in the next episode, by the will of Allah.
We invoked Salawat on the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than 79 times in this episode.
