Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet.
O you who have believed, send blessings upon him
Send blessings upon him and greet him with due respect and peace.
All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His assistance, and ask for His forgiveness.
And we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and the misdeeds of our actions.
Whomever Allah guides, there is none to lead astray.
And whomever He misguides, there is no guide for him.
And we testify that there is no god except Allah, alone, without partner.
And we testify that our master, our leader, and our beloved, Muhammad, is His servant and messenger.
O Allah, send Your blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet
and upon his family and companions, and grant them peace
O my beloved, O Muhammad.
O my beloved, O Muhammad.
O my beloved, O Muhammad.
And blessings be upon Muhammad.
And upon the family of Muhammad.
Dalil Al-Khayrāt (The Guide to Goodness) Episode 12
The path to knowing the Prophet
Knowing our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family,
is the true path to sincere love for him.
But it is not enough to simply read about him, peace be upon him.
What matters is choosing those who guide you to this knowledge.
This is what scholars call the companionship of the loving and the knowledgeable.
Our Master, the Prophet, is present
Are you happy, my dear?
We cannot truly understand the honor of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
unless we know who the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, is.
And Allah, the Exalted, says:
“And know that the Messenger of Allah is among you.”
Where is he? The Messenger is among us.
Allah has decided that the Messenger is among us.
But where is he? We must explore and learn about his person.
When we study his qualities,
when we study his actions, when we study his character,
we will know that the Messenger of Allah is truly among us.
Anyone who studies the life of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, will inevitably love him.
But whom did he study under? Was his teacher a devoted lover for the Prophet?
Sit with those who love the Prophet.
Because love is naturally contagious.
When you sit with someone passionate about something,
You will absorb their passion and become just as passionate.
That's why it's said, "A companion influences you."
For this reason,
besides reading a lot about the Prophet,
you should accompany those who love the Prophet.
Love knows no logic.
You receive love from the lovers,
not from books.
You receive it from the lovers.
How can one seek the Prophet's love without sitting with someone who truly loves him?
You must see those who love the Prophet,
whose hearts are filled with the light of that love and good following.
So that this love enters your heart, for it is a secret.
It is a secret in the love of the Messenger.
Blessings and peace be upon you.
O best of creation, O seal of the Prophets.
Understanding this comes from learning from those who truly know.
Because some people describe.
Some people describe certain things.
But they are not knowledgeable,
just describers.
That’s why you find some people mentioning the Prophet, peace be upon him, from the pulpit.
But you leave without feeling anything about the Prophet, peace be upon him,
because this is a mention from a describer, not from one who truly knows.
But when you sit with someone who is certain,
without speaking, he affects you.
And their state flows into you.
This is what the scholars of spirituality and upbringing have expressed
by being with someone whose state uplifts you.
The first condition is to be in the company of a lover of the Prophet.
One who has been with a lover of the Prophet, and so on in the chain.
And now, we are connected to the Prophet through 45 men.
There are 45 links in the chain.
Each link must contain 45 lovers.
From the lover of the Prophet before you, tracing back all the way to the Prophet himself.
The companionship and attending gatherings of sending Salawat upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, with the lovers.
This is what introduces a person more to him.
This brings him closer even more.
Then, after that, if he expands his reading in books,
this reading will be beneficial, by the will of Allah, the Almighty.
He, peace be upon him, was very modest and humble.
He would patch his sandals.
And sew his clothes.
He would milk his goat.
And he would quietly and humbly serve his family.
Peace be upon him.
He loved the poor and the needy and would sit with them.
He would visit the sick and attend their funerals.
He never looked down on a poor person, no matter how poverty had affected them.
O Allah, I have believed in our Master Muhammad, although I have not seen him.
Do not deprive me of seeing him in Paradise and grant me his companionship.
And make me die upon his religion.
And give me to drink from his pond, a refreshing, pleasant, and satisfying drink
We will never thirst again after that.
Indeed, you are capable of all things.
Today, you can apply the concept of companionship to choosing whom to follow on social media platforms.
You can follow those who connect you to the love of our Master Muhammad.
Peace be upon him and his family.
And they help you get to know him.
And sitting with the simple ones of the nation who love the Prophet by nature.
This is a very beautiful thing. When you sit with them,
you find that people, when they see something beautiful, say, "The beauty of the Prophet."
Everything beautiful is connected to the Prophet.
Even when they see a beautiful child, they say, "May the Prophet’s name be its protection."
The humble vendor, in his conversation, says, "We gained blessings by sending Salawat upon the Prophet."
When you stop him and he glances at his goods, he says, "See? With blessings upon the Prophet."
Even if you looked at the goods without buying anything, he says, "We earned blessings through sending Salawat upon the Prophet."
He didn’t say, "We earned money," but rather, "You made me invoke Salawat upon the Prophet with you."
All these small things
You’ll find them throughout your whole life.
The Prophet is present in your heart in every activity you do, even the simplest ones.
We have never attended a gathering
nor a session
Whenever we attend a gathering, we hear how people constantly mention the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him,
in their customs, in their traditions
in their dealings
in their moments, in their calmness
In everything, there must be a mention of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
So the first thing we learned about the honor of the Messenger of Allah
is the abundance of mentioning him, peace and blessings be upon him.
May Allah grant us his love.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with the al-Hawd (the Pool of Paradise).
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with the praised station (Maqam Mahmud).
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with the banner that is firmly tied.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with the witnessed position.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one described with generosity and munificence.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one in the heavens, our master, Muhammad.
When you love someone, you want to hear others admire them too.
Through the ages, lovers of our Prophet Muhammad have expressed their admiration, peace be upon him,
Through praising him in poetry.
These poems sing of his qualities, his morals, and his perfection, peace be upon him.
Listening to these praises,
It helps you get to know him, peace be upon him,
through the words of his lovers.
O our people, send blessings upon him!
O our people, send blessings upon him!
You will achieve joy, happiness, and abundant life.
And the Lord of all creation will bless you with His grace,
and the reward of Paradise on the Day of Judgment.
If a person who is deeply in love with another person like them
reaches a state where the mind becomes perplexed,
then look at what the first one says.
If a madman were asked, "What do you want? The world and everything in it?"
He would reply, "The dust from the soles of her shoes is more precious to me."
"And more soothing to my soul."
This person is in love with the beauty of another human.
So, what about someone in love with the beauty of the Master of all mankind? Peace and blessings be upon him.
All scholars, without exception,
used to compete in praising the Messenger of Allah.
Name any of the great Islamic scholars you wish.
Or scholars who were reciters,
or jurists, or linguists, or foundational scholars, or theologians,
except that you find each of them has written a treatise or a poem in praise of our Master, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
Imam Umar ibn al-Farid says in his poems,
Increase my wonder with excessive love for You, and have mercy on a heart
inflamed with the fire of Your passion.
And if I ask to see You in reality, then grant it,
and do not let my answer be, "You shall not see."
Love is life itself, so die for it passionately, for you deserve to die and be excused.
I was alone with the Beloved, and between us was a secret gentler than a passing breeze.
He allowed my gaze to linger as I had longed, and I became known when once I was unknown.
Al-Hafez Ibn Al-Jazari, may Allah have mercy on him,
he is the Sheikh of the nation in the science of Quranic recitation: Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Yusuf ibn Al-Jazari.
This great scholar,
whose knowledge was recognized across the horizons
Today, no one can claim a connection to the science of Quranic recitation
except through Al-Hafidh ibn Al-Jazari.
He is known as "the uncle of the reciters."
There is no chain of Quranic transmission today that does not pass through this man.
In the minor readings, the ten minor recitations, or the ten major recitations,
you look into the poems of Ibn Al-Jazari.
You find that which is in praise
Of the goodness of the heart, I journey through the night... Perhaps through it, my captivity will be freed.
When you find a man like Sheikh Yusuf Al-Nabhani, may Allah have mercy on him, who was a judge,
One of the senior judges of the Levant,
Spending a great portion of his life.
In collecting the praises of the Prophet, Al-Nabhani compiled 25,000 verses of poetry
In praise of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and this is no small feat.
Imam Ibn Sayyid al-Nas, the great scholar,
One of the greatest hadith scholars,
Presents you with the book "Minhaj al-Madh" (The Path of Praise).
He mentions the companions who praised the Prophet, peace be upon him.
And the followers who praised the Prophet, peace be upon him.
He named 175 people.
No era passes without praise for him, peace be upon him.
No era lacks a competition in loving him, peace be upon him.
No era is devoid of a connection to him, peace be upon him.
May Allah's blessings and peace be upon you.
From your servant Ibrahim, full of longing and love.
I come to you as a humble servant, clinging to you.
The first to turn to you, a servant, came with deep love.
A loving, poor, and asking poet has come.
He roams the deserts, having grown old and worn.
For you are the best of people from the best of nations.
To the best of masters, to whom I have called, wearing the turban.
The world has corrupted, but O servant of God, you are our intercessor.
The banner of praise is in your hands, higher and greater.
Upon you be the prayer of God, as said by the one who is in love.
I wander in the night.
Or do my feet turn towards you, seeking you
Seeking you.
Who attends the gatherings of praising the Prophet?
Those who love the Prophet, peace be upon him.
And the very verses of praise
when spoken by the praise with heart.
It captures your heart.
You find yourself transformed as well, that’s why listening gatherings are very important.
In bringing forth the feeling, what does "the feeling" mean?
It’s the emotion that beats in your heart while listening.
You’ll feel your heart begin to open.
Our Prophet, I send you my prayers, my longing, my love with my greetings.
Intercede for me, O Taha, the most beloved.
With the One who called you the Beloved.
The Beloved has called you by name.
O blessed city, O blessed city, O healer of the sick,
We long for you, and love has called us.
And the Prophet has called us.
My Lord, send Your blessings and peace forever and always
Upon Your Beloved, the best of all creation.
O Lord, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon our noble family and companions.
Some feel that sitting to listen to the praises of our beloved Prophet, peace be upon him, is excessive.
And that there are better things to do
Instead of wasting time listening to poetry and songs.
So, what is the legitimacy of listening to praises?
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
When you compare the number of poems that praise the Lord of the Worlds
to the number of poems that praise the Master of the Worlds, our Prophet Muhammad
You will find that the number of praises for the Prophet is greater.
So, why does Allah allow this?
Because our Lord is the possessor of absolute perfection
He does not lack anything.
That is why, on the Day of Judgment, He grants the great intercession to him.
He does not say, "I am here, I am your supreme Lord."
And He is truly deserving of it.
But He does not lack anything.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, himself heard praise.
For example, our master Ka'b ibn Zuhayr.
He said: "Indeed, the Messenger is a light to be illuminated by, a sword from the swords of Allah, unsheathed."
And the Prophet, peace be upon him, listened and smiled.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to our master Abdullah ibn Rawahah: "O Abdullah..."
Say some poetry that fits the moment. I want to hear some poetry from you. Our master Abdullah was a distinguished poet.
He said: "Look around you, Abdullah, and say some poetry."
He said: "I have discerned goodness in you, I recognize it."
And there was nothing more beautiful than our Prophet, peace be upon him, for him to compose poetry about.
"I have discerned goodness in you, I recognize it. And Allah knows that my sight has not betrayed me."
And anyone who turns away from glorifying the Prophet, searching for proof about it, is displaying bad manners.
So say what you wish in praise of him, without hesitation or doubt.
Say whatever you wish in praise of him and accept and submit to those who praise him.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with signs of guidance.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with signs of direction.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with miracles.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with signs.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with clear proofs.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with miracles
O Allah, send blessings upon the one with extraordinary powers.
Specialists in praising the Messenger of Allah, who spent their lives describing the perfection of Muhammad.
And composing poems about our Prophet Muhammad.
They came to offer their apologies to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
For example, we were entertained by the great poet Ahmed Shawqi, may Allah have mercy on him,
with his beautiful poems.
And those praises of the Messenger of Allah.
He says after that:
O Father of Zahra, I have surpassed my limits in praising you, yet I have a connection to you.
For no one has truly known eloquence if they have not taken you as their guide.
I praised the kings and increased my status, but when I praised you, I surpassed the clouds.
It is enough for you that the moon's light fades,
but the light of Muhammad never fades.
Peace be upon him and his family.
Knowing the Beloved leads a person to true love.
The means of knowing him, peace be upon him, are numerous.
All of them are doors through which we can begin with any one of them.
But the important thing is to begin.
O Allah, gather us in his group.
And guide us by his Sunnah.
And let us die upon his faith.
And show us his face, and place us in his group and party.
The result of this recognition is love.
And the importance of this love that we should strive to embody,
is shown through its effects on a person's life.
The greatest of these effects
is the love of Allah and His Messenger for you, in this world and the Hereafter.
And this is the ultimate success.
Every time I sit, I think of one hadith.
Many of us say, "O Messenger of Allah, we love you," but think about what the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Mu’adh!
"O Mu’adh, I love you." How did Mu’adh feel that night?
It is indescribable.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) says to you, "O Mu’adh, I love you."
May Allah grant us His love.
We invoked Salawat on the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than 70 times in this episode.
