Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him.
O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him,
Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.
O Allah, send blessings, peace, and mercy upon our Master and lord, Muhammad.
The owner of the crown, the ascension (Mi'raj), the Buraq, and the knowledge; the one who repels afflictions, epidemics, illnesses, and pain.
His body is fragrant, purified, illuminated; his name is exalted, written on the tablet and pen.
The moon of the dark night, the light of guidance, the guiding light in darkness, the Master of the two worlds.
The intercessor for the two realms, the owner of the two directions, the Imam of the two Holy Mosques,
The grandfather of the two young grandsons, the son of the two sacrifices, the joy of the eyes.
The beloved, our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family.
O you who yearn for the light of his beauty, send blessings and peace upon him.
Lord, send blessings and peace always and forever upon Your Beloved, the best of all creation.
The start of a profound connection through sending Salawat upon the Prophet, peace be upon him.
We thank Allah that we grew up in societies where sending Salawat upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, is a cherished tradition.
in all dealings, whether in the public street, the marketplace, or during occasions, prayers, and salutations upon the Prophet, peace be upon him.
Yet, the special relationship, meaning, I experienced the true essence of sending Salawat upon the Prophet(PBUH) as I recall from my university years.
One night, Allah blessed me with the book of Sheikh Yusuf al-Nabahani.
It was titled "The Best Prayers upon the Master of the Masters" (Afdal Al-Salawat 'Ala Sayyed Al-Sadat). And I was overwhelmed with love for it.
I couldn't sleep that night until I finished reading the entire book, and I began to apply what I learned.
For example, saying, "O Allah, send blessings upon the soul of our Master Muhammad in the realm of souls."
"Send blessings upon the presence of our Master Muhammad in the presences."
"Send blessings upon the Barzakh of our Master Muhammad in the Barzakhs."
And he speaks about the spiritual, worldly, and afterlife benefits of each formulation.
I remember returning to it the next day, then the day after, and again on the fourth day.
And Glory be to Allah, during that time, we used to hold a weekly gathering on Friday nights,
with some beloved companions, we would read the Qasida Burda of Imam al-Busiri.
And this is the Burda of the Chosen One, it has been completed.
We would try, every Friday night, to implement a Sunnah together, based on the reminders we heard from the righteous,
and the scholars who attended would inspire us, and I felt that these two things really
contributed, along with other factors,
to the inner state that inspired me to seek to know the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his family and Companions.
Its verses (the Burda) number sixty, along with one hundred,
Relieve our distress, O Vast in Generosity.
O Lord, send blessings and peace always and forever upon Your Beloved, the best of all creation.
Dalil Al-Khayrāt (The Guide to Goodness) Episode 6
Prophet Muhammad: The owner of Major Intercession
Muslims know that the blessing of the Prophet, peace be upon him,
has not ceased after his death.
All Muslims know that he is our intercessor before Allah, the Almighty, on the Day of Judgment.
But does this mean that our connection with Allah, the Almighty,
has become direct, without any intermediary?
Or is it without the need for him, peace be upon him, until we are resurrected on the Day of Judgment?
Or is he, peace be upon him, still an intermediary between us and Allah, the Almighty?
Understanding this relationship requires purifying the hearts from some doubts
that prevent us from benefiting from sending Salawat upon him, peace be upon him.
To continue our journey in getting to know our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his family and companions,
through understanding the meanings of the means, the intermediary, and intercession.
O Lord, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad among the Messengers, Judgment.
and send blessings upon our Master Muhammad in the highest assembly until the Day of
O Allah, grant our Master Muhammad the means, the excellence, the honor, and the great rank.
Allah, the Almighty, said to His beloved Prophet: "Say, (O Muhammad) He is Allah, the One,"
and in another Quran chapter Allah says, "Say, O disbelievers..."
The word "Say" indicates the establishment of an intermediary and bond between the Creator (Allah) and the created (His Prophet).
And here, in His miracles, the Prophet remains the intermediary for the Message.
And the intermediary for the clarification, He said: "That you may clarify to the people what was revealed to them."
Is this verse only for the Prophet’s time? No.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, continues to clarify to his beloved ones including his heirs, and his successors,
the secrets of the Qur'an, its meanings, its inner and outer aspects.
Once, someone told me that we should not seek intercession through the Prophet, peace be upon him.
I asked him: "why?", and he replied Because Allah, the Exalted, says,
"When My servants ask you about Me, indeed I am near."
I said, "You are answering your question by your won self." Do you know the Arabic language? I asked. He replied in the affirmative.
I said, "And when He asks you, what is the grammatical analysis of this 'kaf' (the Arabic letter in the word Sa'alaka)?
Is it the 'kaf' of address from the speaker (Allah)?"
And who is being addressed? It is our Master, the Messenger of Allah.
And when He says, 'And when My servants ask you about Me,' the implication here is that it is as if He is saying, 'When they asks you (O Muhammad).'
My servants ask you about Me, and I am near.' You can only approach Allah, the Almighty, through the door of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)
Without the Muhammadan law (Sharia), how would you come to know Allah?
This is the rank that Allah, the Almighty, has granted him.
So why? Are we compelled to hold this belief? Yes, why? Because Allah, the Almighty, willed it.
If Allah had willed, He could have sent down the Quran without a Messenger.
But this is not possible; the physical Mushaf (the written copy of the Quran) does not have a direct connection with us.
So, He sent to us the Quran in its tangible form, which is the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) When Lady Aisha was asked about the character of the Prophet
she replied, "Do you not read the Quran? His character was the Quran."
The true connection and reaching to Allah, the Almighty, is only possible through the door of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
Answering intellectual doubts requires knowledge, and raising spiritual aspirations requires taste.
So, these two elements must go hand in hand.
In this world, Allah, the Almighty, appointed the Prophet as an intermediary between Him and His servants in matters of guidance.
It is truly amazing that Allah, the Almighty, speaks of this noble Prophet, peace be upon him, saying:
"With him, Allah guides those who follow His pleasure and seek peace"(Quran 6: 16).
Meaning Allah established him as an intermediary between Him and His servants regarding guidance.
So, how can this intermediary not be involved even in supplication?
O Allah, send blessings upon the intercessor on the Day of Judgment.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one who is the owner of intercession.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one who owns the intercession.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one who possesses the means.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one who holds the great honor.
O Allah, send blessings upon the one who holds the highest rank.
In order to understand the truth that the Messenger, peace be upon him,
is the intermediary between us and Allah, and He fulfills needs by Allah's permission,
We need to explore the meaning of causes within the framework of our correct belief.
First, Allah, the Almighty, created all causes, so nothing exists except that Allah created it.
Second, a cause does not produce the result by itself; for example, medicine does not cure the illness by itself.
But Allah creates the cure when you adhere to the cause.
Similarly, when you eat, food does not satisfy your hunger by itself.
But Allah creates the feeling of fullness when you take the cause, which is eating.
Similarly, taking the Prophet, peace be upon him, as an intermediary or means to draw closer to Allah,
through invoking Salawat in abundant upon him, does not itself create closeness to Allah and His pleasure.
But Allah creates this acceptance and pleasure.
That is why when we thank Allah, the Almighty, for granting us our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him,
it is because Allah, the Almighty, created him as a mean
to bring us closer to Him in this world and the Hereafter.
If it weren't for Allah's grace upon us, our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him, would have had no virtue or ability.
That is why Allah, the Almighty, is capable of making you eat and not become full or to be full without eating.
This is the correct belief that reflects the true understanding of the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
When I say, "O Allah, I ask You by Your Prophet," this means I take him as an intermediary or as an intercessor before my requests.
I have demands, needs, and matters that I hope Allah will fulfill.
So, I seek Allah's help through the Prophet, peace be upon him.
As Imam al-Bakri would say, "You are the gate of Allah, and anyone who approaches from another door will not be allowed to enter."
When you enter through the gate of our Master, the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, it is essential that your matters are resolved.
This is what the Companion, who stood before the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through our Master Muhammad."
O my Master, O Messenger of Allah, I turn to Allah through you.
He had his need fulfilled, why? Because Allah loves him, and Allah restored his sight.
Does taking the means constitute associating partners with Allah? No, it does not involve associating partners with Allah.
Allah commanded us to take the means. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Seek treatment," and Allah commanded us to do so.
So, taking the means is part of faith. It is part of your faith in Allah to take the means.
And not taking the means is considered disrespectful to Allah, the Almighty.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, is one of the greatest means for fulfilling needs.
There are many hadiths about this. For example, "There may be a person with messy hair, wearing tattered clothes, and rejected by the doors,
but if he swears by Allah, Allah will fulfill his oath." This is a hadith related to the Prophet, (PBUH) and it is more fitting for him than for anyone else.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, if he swore by Allah, Allah would fulfill his oath.
So when you come to the door of the Prophet, peace be upon him,
and ask him for your need, it is not because he is a deity, but because he is a means to Allah, the Almighty, who will pray to Allah on your behalf.
You can pray to Allah directly, but you can also seek help from the Prophet, peace be upon him, to fulfill your needs.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, the best of Your prophets,
the most honorable of Your chosen ones, the Imam of Your saints, and the Seal of Your Prophets,
the Beloved of the Lord of the worlds, the witness among the Messengers, the intercessor for the sinners, and the leader of all the children of Adam.
O Prophet (Ta Ha, the Messenger of Allah), you are the way, there is no other way. O Prophet, you are the way.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad according to the extent of Your love for him.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad according to Your care for him.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, as is due for him and his great status.
Send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, a prayer through which You save us from all fears and calamities.
And through which You fulfill all our needs, purify us from all sins,
raise us to the highest ranks, and grant us the greatest blessings of all good things in this life and after death.
This is what Allah says: "By My might and majesty, if they come to Me from every direction and knock on every door,
I will not open for them except through Him."
Isn't this an intercession? So, when I ask Allah through our Prophet, I am appealing to the mercy of Allah through our Prophet, peace be upon him.
Because the greatness and strength of Allah is immense, I seek the kindness of Allah through our Prophet, peace be upon him.
They don't differentiate between intercession and shirk (polytheism), worship and praise.
This is a very different matter.
Shirk is related to the oneness of Allah, while intercession is a juristic issue,
whether it is recommended, permissible, prohibited, or obligatory. We must strive to learn.
This is why those who discuss such matters often get confused.
This confusion can only be removed by sitting with the people of knowledge, the scholars, learning from them, attending their knowledge gatherings,
remembering Allah frequently, sending Salawat upon the Prophet, reading his biography, his traits, and the virtues that Allah has bestowed upon him.
So that we can understand the status of this greatest Prophet, whose worth is known only to Allah.
Who opened the door for us to Allah? Who guided us to Allah? Do we expect to approach Allah, the Almighty,
without passing through the door of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him? That would be disrespectful and ungrateful.
So if we want to raise our needs to Allah, the Almighty,
remember that Allah is the deity, Allah is the responder, and Allah is the closest, we must show respect to the Messenger of Allah.
O Allah, I ask You and turn to You through Your beloved, the Chosen One, who is near to You.
O our beloved Muhammad, we seek intercession through You to Your Lord. Intercede for us with the Great Lord.
O the best of messengers, the pure one, O Allah, grant him intercession for us with his rank before You.
O Allah, grant him intercession for us with his rank before You.
O Allah, grant him intercession for us with his rank before You.
This clear understanding of the reality of intercession leads us to understand the meaning of entering Islam, the religion of Allah,
which requires the testimony that there is no god but Allah and the testimony that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
This affirms the concept of intercession. There is no acceptance from Allah unless you acknowledge our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him.
is the Messenger between you and Allah, the Almighty.
we cannot worship properly unless we are attached to Allah and seek intercession through the Messenger of Allah
Because Allah, Blessed and Exalted, linked His name with His beloved.
So, you come to take the name of Allah, Blessed and Exalted, and the belief in worshiping Allah,
without the door that Allah, Blessed and Exalted, has made the entrance, which is impossible.
Even in the testimony, when you say "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah," you are not a Muslim unless you add and say,
"And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."
People may have knowledge of the religion, even if they learn from teachers, but it is through daily living and experiences.
You find that our grandmothers and grandfathers, when we say "your grandmother" or "your grandfather," the grandmother, when you say "Muhammad, (PBUH)"
if you say in Egypt or Sudan "There is no god but Allah," they would say, "Finish, Sheikh, finish!"
"Then Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," because your faith would be incomplete without Muhammad, and faith without Muhammad is not faith.
Therefore, sending Salawat upon the Prophet is a remembrance of Allah. The problem is that some people,
with limited understanding, say that the remembrance of Allah is one thing and sending Salawat upon the Prophet is another. No.
No, sending Salawat upon the Prophet is a remembrance of Allah, and it is the Prophet’s prayer itself.
Because the first thing you say is "O Allah..." — "O Allah" is not just a remembrance of Allah.
There are scholars who said that "O Allah" is the Greatest Name of Allah.
So, you are mentioning Allah and fulfilling the rights of the two testimonies: "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"
in the prayer upon the Prophet. But if you are only mentioning Allah, like Glory be to Allah, Praise be to Allah, or "Allah is the Greatest,
you fulfill the right of "There is no god but Allah," but what about the right of "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"?
Whereas when you pray upon the Prophet, you fulfill the rights of both testimonies.
Because "O Allah" is the right of "There is no god but Allah
” ,and praying upon our Master Muhammad is the right of “I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
Thus, the significance of focusing prayer upon him is that he is the sole gateway to Allah and the most beloved.
Everything you desire from Allah, by Allah, you will not receive except through the Messenger of Allah, no matter what you do.
The Most Merciful did not send mercy that rises or descends
in the Kingdom of Allah, except through and with the Chosen One, His servant, His prophet, the chosen one, the messenger.
This is the intermediary, and its origin is understood by anyone who has reason.
So, when they understood this matter, they realized and comprehended that our Master, the Messenger of Allah, is the door.
They became attached to his presence, peace be upon him and his family and companions.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad.
Grant him the intercession and the virtue,
and the high rank,
and raise him to the Praised Station You promised him.
Indeed, you do not fail in Your promise.
We have learned from experience, and this is what we heard from our teachers in the zawiya, that if someone is facing a crisis,
or is in trouble or has a matter to address,
they should recite Dala'il Al-Khayrat, and it has been passed down for a long time that one should recite it forty times or forty completions.
After finishing, they raise their hands to Allah in supplication, and they seek intercession with Allah through the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
They seek blessings by sending prayers upon the Messenger of Allah and call upon him for help, asking him to relieve their distress, and relief will come.
This understanding helps us realize that our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him, is our means and intermediary for the good of this world.
It helps us clearly understand that he, peace be upon him, is also our means of salvation in the Hereafter.
The Messenger, peace be upon him, is the means to the goal. The goal is whether we are in this world for this world
or in this world for the Hereafter. We are in a transit state here, seeking reward either here or there.
But is there any way we can reach the goal without going through here?
The Messenger, peace be upon him, must benefit you in this world in order to benefit you in the Hereafter.
If he does not succeed in this world, he will not succeed in the Hereafter.
Therefore, Allah, Exalted is He, when He speaks of everything coming through this greatest creation,
proves this on the Day of Judgment when people will ask for the relief of the punishment on the Day of Resurrection
The doors will be closed, even the door of Allah.
No one will be able to approach it except through our Master Muhammad.
No one can reach Allah in their requests, supplications, or prayers,
even though He says, "And when My servants ask you about Me, indeed I am near."
I am near to them through you, O Muhammad, and far from them without you.
If they all came to Me without your door, I would not admit them, nor would I open a door for them.
This is evidenced by the Hadith in Sahih Bukhari about intercession.
Why, on the Day of Judgment, do we seek intercession from Adam and from Noah? This is what the hadith says.
They seek intercession from Adam, and they seek intercession from Noah. All the Prophets direct to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
They all hope for the intercession of the Messenger of Allah, in order to save the situation.
Should we go to this side or that side? This is a great moment.
The Messenger of Allah says, "I am the one for this," and intercedes for his nation.
If this is the situation on the Day of Judgment, then are the trials of this world greater than the trials of the Hereafter?
Forget about his status in this world, which is beyond description, but his status on the Day of Judgment,
and on the Day of Judgment, the sun of his rank will shine.
He will be honored on the Day of Judgment.
He will have the Praiseworthy Station, the promised position, and the greatest intercession.
He will be a shield from the great anger on that day, when the Most Merciful will be angry.
No creation will have any means to seek intercession to avert the wrath of Allah, Exalted is He, except the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
Intercede for us, O Messenger of Allah. We seek your intercession and no one else’s.
Help, O best of Allah’s creation, a weak people who are always under your shade.
Fasten to assist us, for we see our Allah hurrying to please you.
This statement was made by the Mother of the Believers, Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her.
Then it will be said to me, "Lift your head, ask and you will be granted, intercede and your intercession will be accepted,
and say, 'Listen to your words.' This is the Praiseworthy Station that was promised to me."
Then the one who stands to the left of the Throne will come, and Ibrahim will be on the right of the Throne. The companion said, "O Messenger of Allah,
the right is higher than the left, why are you on the left and he is on the right?"
He said, "I am Ibrahim is at the gate of Paradise, while I am at the gate of Hell. I intercede and I am granted intercession."
"O Messenger of Allah, for whom will you intercede? For the people of major sins from my nation."
Not the minor sins, but the people of major sins. This is the Messenger of Allah; peace be upon him.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, is prostrating and crying to Allah, saying, "My nation, my nation," crying to Allah on our behalf.
Is there any greater love than this station?
And Allah says to him: "And surely your Lord will give you so that you will be pleased."
He will not only intercede for the believers; He will intercede for sinners like me, for the negligent ones. He will intercede for us because He loves us.
If we believe that we will only enter Paradise through the love of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,
then the simplest thing we can do for the beloved, peace be upon him, is to increase sending blessings upon him
with the intention of love, intercession, and shyness.
The life of our Messenger, peace be upon him, was for us. The life of the beloved was for us.
Whoever doubts his leadership in this world will know his leadership on the Day of Judgment.
Whoever doubts the fulfillment of our needs through him in this world will see the fulfillment of their needs on the Day of Judgment.
In fact, he will fulfill the needs of those who ask and those who don't, of the believers and the disbelievers,
of those who honor him and those who don't. Therefore, he will intercede for everyone, both for the believers and the disbelievers.
The truest of speakers, the most successful intercessor, the best of interceders,
the trustworthy in what was entrusted, the truthful in what was conveyed,
the one who proclaimed the command of Allah, the one who is aware of what he was entrusted with.
The closest of Allah's messengers to Allah, the one with the highest rank and status on the Day of Judgment, the greatest in virtue and honor.
The most honorable of Allah's noble prophets, the chosen ones in the sight of Allah, and the most beloved to Him.
He intercedes on the Straight Path, and he says, "I am standing on the path
"I say, 'O Allah, grant safety, O Allah, grant safety, O Allah, grant safety.'"
Standing by the pond, whoever drinks from it will never feel thirsty again.
On the Day of the greatest thirst, the possessor of the Banner of Praise, peace be upon him, will give drink to the creation. What can I say?
The status of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, has no limit, and it cannot be expressed by words.
It has no limit, and it cannot be expressed by words.
All we can do is imagine it, approximate it, and feel it deeply.
There are things that we cannot express, but we ask Allah to fill our hearts with them and for our hearts to truly feel them.
That our hearts be filled with them, that our lives be immersed in them,
and that they flow in our veins, in our actions, and in our endeavors.
That they be present behind our actions and behind our deeds.
We do not move a step nor rest without hoping for the pleasure of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
When this understanding fills our hearts and we live by it in our daily lives,
through our adherence to the correct belief in understanding God's creation of everything,
including causes and their effects, we can make our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family,
the reason that leads us to all good in this world and the Hereafter, with Allah's permission.
All of what we have mentioned draws us to seek more understanding of the greatness of our Master Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family.
Why did he deserve all this reverence from Allah, the Almighty?
What are his qualities, characteristics, and morals that Allah, the Almighty, granted him?
This is what we will learn about in the next episode, by the will of Allah,
pursuing our journey toward understanding the truth that he is our guide to all goodness in this world and the Hereafter. Peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
We invoked Salawat on the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than 81 times in this episode.
