Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him.
O believers, invoke Allah's blessings upon him
Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.
The renowned scholar Ibn Sulaiman Al-Jazuli was born in in the Maghreb (Northwest Africa),
Where he lived, studied, and compiled his renowned work, The Guide to Goodness (Dala'il al-Khayrat).
However, he was not alone in expressing his love
for our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him,
through the book The Guide to Goodness (Dala'il al-Khayrat).
The book reflects a general state of devotion
to our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, in North Africa.
This profound love has endured through the centuries.
Alllah, Allah
Muhammad id the messenger of Allah
In you alone, we place our trust, and whoever trusts in you is ultimately victorious.
Peace and blessings be upon the beloved, Al-Mustafa (the chosen one), we repeat it morning and evening.
Indeed, Allah has chosen Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
Our Master Muhammad. Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is beloved and delightful.
The eldest son is often named Muhammad or Ahmad,
in honor of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
O Allah, send blessings upon the beloved.
O Allah, send blessings upon the most intelligent of Your creation.
O Allah, send blessings upon the pure and purified one.
O Allah, send blessings upon the noble and sacred.
O Allah, send blessings upon him, his family, and his Companions, and grant them abundant peace.
How could we not love him when he is the ultimate role model?
He came to perfect noble character.
We lived in a spiritual environment, in one of the Moroccan zawiyas (spiritual lodges).
I was young and knew little about the world.
But I opened my eyes to a community that found joy and delight.
through sending Salawat upon the beloved, peace and blessings be upon him.
“O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his family, as You sent blessings upon our Master Ibrahim.”
“And bless our Master Muhammad and the family of our Master Muhammad, as You blessed the family of our Master Ibrahim,
Whenever I saw them sending Salawat upon the beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
I felt they were experiencing profound joy and delight.
They expressed their love for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, through their happiness.
A happiness that graced them with beauty and a deep sense of spiritual richness—the greatest treasure after faith.
It is the blessing of Sending Salawat upon the beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.
O Allah, send peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, his family and Companions.
Love is not measured by distance but by the states of the esteemed people.
Those who are devoted to the Master of Masters, peace and blessings be upon him.
Thus, geographical distance granted them a profound spiritual closeness.
The farther the Moroccans were from our Master, the Messenger of Allah,
the closer they felt to his noble presence, peace and blessings be upon him, in his blessed resting place,
where he rests with his honored head facing toward Morocco.
The head of the Messenger of Allah, the light of the Messenger of Allah, the crown of the Messenger of Allah, the Shrine of the Messenger of Allah.
The Moroccans are deeply connected to this exalted rank, displaying extraordinary expressions of devotion and attachment
to the Messenger of Allah.
In their celebrations, sending Salawat and peace upon the Messenger of Allah is a steadfast pillar.
In their moments of sorrow, they embody the meanings of patience, grace, and self-relief
by sending Salawat upon our Master, the Messenger of Allah.
When one of them forgets something, his companion reminds him, saying: "Send Salawat upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and you will find it."
If someone becomes angry, you tell them, "send Salawat upon the Messenger of Allah," and they calm down.
All their affairs are directed toward the Greatest Beloved, through whom we reach Allah.
Unfortunately, the Moroccans did not have the honor of accompanying the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him.
Despite what has been said that some Berbers, seven of them,
they went from Morocco and traveled there.
A hadith is mentioned in Sahih Muslim that can be understood or interpreted
that a group of people came from Morocco, and perhaps they were from the farthest part of Morocco.
This is our country, but it is certain that Morocco did not have a companionship
confirmed with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him but their belief in him was merely based on hearsay.
Consequently, this strengthened that love and deepened it in their souls and hearts.
This longing and that yearning for him, peace and blessings be upon him.
Therefore, in Morocco, we have something truly great. We had two books that we are very proud of.
And the people of Morocco take unanimous pride in this distinction over the people of the East.
We have the book the (Dala'il Al-Khayrat) and we have a second book, or the one that came before it.
The book Ash-Shifa bi Ta‘rif Huquq al-Mustafa (The Remedy in Defining the Rights of the Chosen Prophet).
Qadi 'Iyad passed away, may Allah have mercy on him, in the year 544 AH.
Which is in the middle of the 6th century, but this book
is among those in which Allah has placed a divine secret.
And you find the healing of hearts in ‘The Healing’ by Qadi Iyad.
The Healing is about defining the rights of the Chosen prophet.
He was the first to write about the rights of the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him.
And he brought forth what astonished minds.
Because it is the only biography that combines two aspects, the aspect of beauty and the aspect of majesty (Al-Jamal wa Al-Dalal).
Read the first half, entirely devoted to the beauty of the Messenger of Allah, filled with praise and expressions of love for him.
It is filled with Praise that may elevate you to the level of profound devotion, even to the extent of passionate love for the Messenger of Allah.
Your soul finds comfort in this beauty, and your heart connects deeply with the beauty of the Messenger of Allah.
You enter the second section, which explores the majesty embodied in the Messenger of Allah.
It is impossible for anyone, regardless of their rank or stature, to measure this most sublime and sacred Prophetic presence.
The love that the people of Morocco hold serves as a model for the love Muslims worldwide have
for our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
Dalil Al-Khayrāt (The Guide to Goodness) Episode 10
“The rational and innately heartfelt love for Prophet (PBUH) .”
Love is the foundation of this religion; it is the essence of faith.
Allah, exalted and glorified, reminds humanity that if they disobey Him,
fail to love one another, neglect their love for Allah and His Prophet,
then, as stated in the Qur'an: “Allah will bring forth a people He will love, and they will love Him.” (Surah Al-Ma'idah: 54)
Allah, glorified and exalted, has built the universe upon love,
and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, guides us to it.
He said: “You will not truly believe until you love one another.”
Even among ourselves,
the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”
He also declared: “There is no faith for the one who lacks love.” He repeated this three times.
Indeed, “There is no faith for the one who lacks love.” In Egypt and Sudan, we say:
“Whoever has no love has no sustenance.” It is often said, “Without love, one has nothing.”
Your father would say to you, “My child, love for the Prophet is the foundation,” peace and blessings be upon him.
For without love, one cannot truly love Allah. To claim love for Allah without loving His Messenger is false.
For he is the one who brought you the truth and affirmed it—may the finest blessings and peace be upon him.
This love for the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him and his family,
is not built on a single reason; rather, it is profound, all-encompassing, and universal.
O Allah, send Your mercy upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad,
just as You have shown mercy to our Master Ibrahim and the family of our Master Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
I love the Prophet entirely, completely—there is no part of him I love more than another.
The Prophet must be loved in his entirety—his outward form and inner essence, his life story, his character, his intellect, and his law.
Whoever truly loves the Prophet must embrace all of him, without favoring one aspect over another.
For if you truly look at the Prophet from any perspective, you will find only perfection and beauty.
Loving our Prophet Muhammad means cherishing all his qualities, for each of them is beautiful.
Every believer must love our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, in all his attributes.
For he is the best of people, both in appearance and character.
What inspires love for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
is not only the grace and generosity he has shown us,
but his very essence, which calls for love.
Just as Allah alone is worshiped for His essence,
the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is loved for his essence.
And he is truly deserving of that love, peace and blessings be upon him.
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad, whose heart You filled with Your Majesty,
and whose eyes You filled with Your Beauty, making him joyous, supported, and victorious.
And upon his family and Companions, and grant perfect peace and blessings, and all praise belongs to Allah for that.
One might ask: Is there anyone who does not love the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him?
The Prophet’s nation possesses a unique distinction: every member harbors love for him.
Those who carry sincere love for him in their hearts are the ones who attain true success.
For love is an act of the heart.
The scholars have said: A single grain of sincere love for the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him,
outweighs the worship of the devout and the toil of the righteous.
This love resides in the hearts of the Muhammadan nation—both men and women.
It is like sugar in tea: when stirred, its sweetness is tasted.
If the sugar is not stirred, its sweetness remains untasted. Such is the love of the Prophet in the hearts of Muslims.
If it is not stirred in their hearts, they will not taste it. But if stirred, they will experience true love.
If you succeed in transferring your love for the Prophet from your mind
to your heart, you will find with every heartbeat, the Prophet is mentioned in it.
At that time, you will feel, "And know that the Messenger of Allah is among you," and you will truly live this reality.
To understand the importance of transferring our love from the mind to the heart,
we need to shed light on the story of our Master Umar, may Allah be pleased with him,
with our Master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.
So the love that has evidence is considered intellectual love.
The kind of love that our master Umar had.
When our master, the Messenger of Allah, said to our master Umar:
None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his own self
Our master Umar replied, "O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than my father, my children, and all people,
except for myself, which is between my sides."
The Prophet peace and blessings be upon him repeated this and said, "Even more than yourself, which is within you."
Our master Umar was truthful, and the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him informed him,
While he’s looking at the state of our master Umar and into his heart,
and said, "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, until I am more beloved to you than yourself."
Our master Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, you are more beloved to me than everything, except myself."
Ah, he loves him with his intellect.
Because his intellect tells him that if his love for the Prophet exceeds his love for himself, he would no longer have a self with which to love him.
If he loses himself, he would lose his love for him.
Thus, he must preserve himself in order to love him.
Ah, you say "because of," "with what," "that," "if," and "with what." Therefore, you love with your intellect.
Our master Umar declared at that moment, "You are more beloved to me than my own self."
The Prophet, peace be upon him replied, "Now, Umar, now your faith is complete."
Someone might ask: what changed our Umar’s love for himself
to loving the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, more than himself in just an instant?
The Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him told him, "No, Umar,
until I am more beloved to you than yourself," and he touched his heart.
At that moment, the love moved from his mind to his heart, and he said, "Now, O Messenger of Allah."
Because he Understands that when the Prophet's hand touched something, it became perfect simply through touch.
Thus, in the story of our master Umar, when the Prophet said, "No, O Umar,
until I am more beloved to you than yourself, he was referring to heartful love, not intellectual love.
Intellectual love lacks evidence, and evidence implies self-interest. If the evidence is lost, the love is lost.
No, the Prophet does not want that; he wants us to love him instinctively.
Instinctively, so that if someone asks you why you love the Prophet,
you find yourself saying, "I cannot help but love him."
Some Muslims love the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, intellectually, not emotionally.
He feels protective jealousy for the Master of Existence, peace and blessings be upon him
and get angry if the Messenger of Allah peace and blessings be upon him is disrespected
If the Messenger of Allah is insulted through caricatures or other means.
But when they experience heartfelt love, as described by the righteous and the honorable companions,
The noble companions talked about it
as these people do, may Allah guide us and guide them.
They are trying to make their love intellectual.
Intellectual love is often confined to the present moment. I do not know why, but it seems to imply that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
was so great that even dumb animals recognized his magnificence.
Animals softened toward him, loved him,
and were even ashamed to disturb him.
So how can a believer—one who truly follows him—
restrict their love for the Messenger of Allah?
This is why the love that grants salvation on the Day of Resurrection
is a love of the heart—true and profound—not one devoid of meaning.
So when I sat with some people and mentioned the Prophet’s virtues—
those we recite in our prayers and hold dear—they demanded proof.
Ah, but the proof existed long before the Prophet touched the heart of our master ʿUmar.
These individuals love with their minds, not with their hearts. But remember—
your Lord is the Lord of hearts. What truly matters is your heart and your intention. That is everything.
O Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad, the possessor of beauty, perfection, joy, and perfection
The one adorned with light, praised by thankful tongues, with a grateful heart and an illustrious banner.
And the grateful heart, the renowned flag, the victorious army, and the sons and daughters
and husband of pure wives, exalted in rank, Zamzam, the Sacred Place, and the Sacred Monument.
And avoiding sins, raising orphans, performing pilgrimage, reciting the Qur'an, glorifying the Most Merciful, and fasting in Ramadan.
It is narrated in some books that our Master Abu Bakr As-Siddīq once told his children,
"If I die in the morning, do not delay my burial until the evening,
and if I die in the evening, do not delay me until the morning.
Wash me, shroud me, and bury me immediately."
They asked, "Why, O Caliph of the Messenger of Allah?"
He replied, "I long to meet the Messenger of Allah, so do not delay me."
Abu Bakr As-Siddīq would often leave his house just to glance at the mosque, then return.
People asked him, "What makes you leave your house, O Abu Bakr?"
He replied, "I only step out to look at the Messenger of Allah and then return."
He would gaze upon him and then go back—such is the restlessness of love.
Abu Bakr loved the Prophet so deeply that even in the Barzakh,
he remained the closest to him.
His blessed resting place was positioned directly beside the Prophet’s grave.
He was most deserving of this proximity due to his immense love for the Prophet.
He was close to him in this world, in the Barzakh, and will be in the Hereafter.
The matter of love is important to complete our relationship with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
This is because when the heart settles and submits to the one he loves,
it does not allow doubts to enter nor is it affected by words. Thus, the relationship becomes pure, and behavior improves.
Some may think that love is a simple matter.
While it may seem easy, it requires a path—a method to attain it.
Love might appear to be a simple matter.
Some claim to love the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, yet their actions contradict that love and even cause offense.
How can such behavior be reconciled with true love?
O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad in accordance with your grace
And send blessings upon our Matser Muhammad in accordance with your generosity.
The reality is that love cannot be genuine without deep knowledge—
to the extent that one's character reflects the beloved’s.
Thus, before discussing love—its meaning, manifestations, and effects—
we must first talk about recognition.
How can one truly know the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family?
This is what we will explore in the next episode, God willing.
We invoked Salawat on the Prophet (peace be upon him) more than 58 times in this episode.
